§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Minister for the Arts (1) if he will list any expenditure by his Department on museums and galleries for each year since 1979 other than on the national museum and Museums and Galleries Commission;
(2) if he will list his Department's expenditure on the Museums and Galleries Commission and its predecessor in every year since 1979; and if he will show how much was allocated to each of the seven English area museum councils and, within the area museum council for the south-east to the London museum service;
(3) if he will list his Department's expenditure on (a) the operating costs, (b) the capital costs and (c) the purchase grants of each of the national museums for which he is responsible since 1979.
§ Mr. LuceI regret that it has not been possible to provide an answer before the summer recess; therefore, I shall write to the hon. Member and place a copy of the letter in the Library.
