asked the Attorney-General if he will list the number of law centres currently in existence; how many are in receipt of central Government funds; how many are known to have closed since 1970 due to lack of funds; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

There is no central Government register of law centres, nor is information held centrally on how many have closed since 1970 due to lack of funds. However, there are 57 members of the Law Centres Federation (this includes Small Heath community law
