Mr. John David Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the joint statement by the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference on 16 July in London, promising affirmative action to promote employment equality in Northern Ireland, applies to (a) companies registered in Northern Ireland, (b) companies registered in the Republic of Ireland and trading with Northern Ireland and (c) companies registered in Great Britain and trading within Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. ViggersMy right hon. Friend announced on 15 July that a new guide to the effective practice of equality of opportunity in employment would be published in September. It will provide guidance on affirmative action for all employers in Northern Ireland, regardless of a company's place of registration.
