§ Mr. Gummer[pursuant to his reply, 23 July 1987]: My Department takes an interest in research into the effects of air pollution, including the effects on growing plants. However, results from the national air pollution monitoring network, and from other research, suggest that in general air pollution has no discernible effect upon agriculture.
