Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the number of applicants for selective financial assistance, the number of employees involved in each case and other non-confidential information about the applicants in each of (a) Ayr, (b) Girvan and (c) Cumnock and Sanquhar travel-to-work areas.

Information on individual applications cannot be disclosed for reasons of confidentiality. Summary information for applications for selective financial assistance in each TTWA in the period since the changes in regional policy came into effect on 29 November 1984 is set out in the table.
