HC Deb 23 July 1987 vol 120 cc425-6W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what complaints about pollution in rivers were made in each of the river purification board areas in each year since 1979; what prosecutions have resulted; and what action has been taken to prevent recurrences.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

These matters fall within the responsibilities of the seven river purification boards whose annual reports include information of this kind. I am arranging for copies of the latest reports to be placed in the House of Commons Library and will investigate the possibility of obtaining copies for earlier years.
