HC Deb 23 July 1987 vol 120 c365W
Sir David Price

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if, in making his decision about the proposed siting by the Central Electricity Generating Board of a 1800MW coal-fired power station at Fawley, he will take into account a possible source of pollution dangers to those communities who live downwind from Fawley on the east side of Southampton Water and the potential risk to the Hamble river; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Spicer

My right hon. Friend has not yet received any application from the Central Electricity Generating Board for consent for the construction of a coal-fired power station at Fawley. If such an application is made, he will take all relevant points into account in reaching his decision.
