Mr. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will update to 31 March 1987 the information on thermal energy generated and spent fuel discharged by Hunterston A station given the reply to the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy on 10 July 1986; and if he will revise the figure for fuel discharged in 1985–86 given in that answer.
§ Mr. Ian Lang[pursuant to the reply, 2 July 1987, c. 128]: I have been asked to reply. I am advised by the South of Scotland Electricity Board that during the financial year 1986–87 the thermal output of Hunterston A was 9,211,936.4 MWh (thermal) and 75.68 tonnes of fuel were discharged. In 1985–86, 96.94 tonnes of fuel were discharged, not 9,694 as previously stated.
