§ Mr. Greg Knightasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether there are plans to modify further the Lion Intoximeter 3000 evidential breath-testing instruments; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HurdA number of minor changes, none of which affect the analytical functions of the instruments, are planned. The modifications will correct minor faults with the machine's date and time mechanism (including provision for leap years); provide for self-checking of the acetone detector; and improve memory storage and retrieval. The changes will be carried out in the course of servicing by the manufacturer.
