HC Deb 23 July 1987 vol 120 c394W
Mr. Gwilym Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on the future of the Land Authority for Wales.

Mr. Grist

I expect to receive shortly the report of a comprehensive financial management and policy review of the Land Authority for Wales. I shall be giving careful consideration to the future of the authority and its role in the light of the findings of the review.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied that developers are not making disproportionate profits from the activities of the Land Authority for Wales.

Mr. Grist

Disposals of land by the Land Authority for Wales are invariably at full market value. There can thus be no question of the land authority subsidising developers' profits.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the land holdings of the Land Authority for Wales and the purpose involved where that land is held for a purpose not in accord with the planning use of the relevant local council.

Mr. Grist

I have asked the chairman of the Land Authority for Wales to write to my hon. Friend.
