As is well known in the case of Iraq and Iran, Her Majesty's Government have strictly adhered to the policy guidelines for defence sales as set out in the answer given on 29 391W October 1985 by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in reply to a question from the right hon. Member for Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale (Mr. Steel).
