HC Deb 23 July 1987 vol 120 cc282-3W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive the report of the inspector who conducted the public inquiry into the proposed east London river crossing; and when he plans to publish the report.

Mr. Channon

I hope to receive the inspector's report early in 1988. The report will be published at the time Ministers announce the decisions they have taken in the light of the inspector's findings. Given the exceptional length and complexity of this inquiry and the volume of evidence which will need to be considered, this is bound to take some time.
