HC Deb 23 July 1987 vol 120 c386W
Mr. Denzil Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many times United States Air Force B-52s equipped with either internal or external air-launched cruise missiles have exercised in the United Kingdom since 1 January 1986.

Mr. Ian Stewart

I refer the right hon. Member to the reply I gave yesterday to the hon. Member for Lewisham, Deptford (Ms. Ruddock).

Ms. Ruddock

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether United States ships carrying nuclear sea-launched cruise missiles have visited British ports.

Mr. Ian Stewart

In accordance with long-standing policy, neither the United States Government nor the British Government confirm or deny the presence of nuclear weapons on visiting warships.

Ms. Ruddock

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether air-launched cruise missiles will be deployed in Britain as part of the Reforger 87 exercises.

Mr. Ian Stewart

[pursuant to his reply, 22 July 1987]: The position remains as stated by my right hon. Friend, the hon. Member for Tonbridge and Mailing (Mr. Stanley) in his answers to the hon. Member for Denton and Reddish (Mr. Bennett) on 18 June 1984 at column 41; 26 July 1984 at columns 751–52; and 15 November 1985 at column 309.
