asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many children have been taken into care following paediatric diagnosis of sexual abuse in each of the past 10 years in (a) Cleveland, (b) Buckinghamshire, (c) Cheshire, (d) the London borough of Brent, (e) Essex and (f) Monmouth.

These figures are not at present held centrally. However in my statement to the House on 9 July at columns 526–7, I indicated our intention to arrange for the collection of national statistics on child abuse.
