asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will make a statement on the national breast cancer screening programme.

[pursuant to her reply, 30 June 1987, c. 364–5]: Regional health authorities have now decided on the locations of their first breast cancer screening centres to be operational by March 1988. The locations are:

Some regional health authorities are planning to start further centres before March 1988. My March 1990 there will be sufficient centres to provide a nationwide service.
