HC Deb 23 July 1987 vol 120 c290W
Mr. Corbett

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether he will institute a review of the use of the 12-hour and 24-hour clocks on television monitors in the House.

Mr. Wakeham

I will refer the hon. Gentleman's point to the Services Committee, once the members of that Committee have been nominated by the House.

Mr. Corbett

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether he will bring forward proposals for the use of television monitors in the House to show messages for hon. Members at suitable intervals.

Mr. Wakeham

This would not be practicable with the existing annunciator system, and I do not consider that a separate network for this purpose would be justifiable. I understand that the Parliamentary Works Office of PSA, in conjunction with the relevant Sub-Committee of the Services Committee, will be reviewing the future of the annunciator system during the coming months, and I will draw the hon. Gentleman's suggestion to its attention.
