HC Deb 22 July 1987 vol 120 c273W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland, if, in relation to the operation in Scotland of the guidelines for management agreements under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, he will list the recommendations and proposals made by the Government's consultants for the avoidance of over-compensation; and if he will specify in each case the action taken to implement them.

Mr. Moynihan

I have been asked to reply.

Details of the consultant's recommendations and proposals designed to improve the accuracy and reliability of payments under management agreements may be found on pages 60–64 and 102–106 of the consultant's report, a copy of which has been deposited in the Library. The Government's preliminary views on these are set out in full in the consultation paper published on 8 Aprl 1987, which has also been deposited in the Library and distributed to interested parties.

We are currently considering the responses to the consultation exercise and will make an announcement in due course.
