§ Mr. NewtonWe are aware of the need to ensure that people who do not speak English have access to health education information about AIDS. Work is in hand to establish a "dial and listen" service in six Asian languages, and in simple English. The service will be run as an adjunct to the National Advisory Service on AIDS which we set up at the beginning of the year. This provides a free-call helpline, which I am pleased to announce will continue in operation at least until the end of March 1988.
§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his policy towards the siting of AIDS hospices or hostels in rural village communities.
§ Mr. NewtonThis is a matter for decision by the individual agencies responsible in the light of local circumstances. Health authorities have this year been specifically requested to examine their provision of services for all terminally ill patients.
