§ Mr. David MitchellMy right hon. Friend meets the chairman of London Regional Transport at regular intervals, most recently on 15 July, and is kept fully informed of developments. The Underground is carrying record numbers of passengers. The board recognises that this success is creating its own problems. LRT plans to invest £280 million this year, of which the majority is designed to improve conditions on the Underground.
