HC Deb 20 July 1987 vol 120 c43W
Sir John Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what meetings are to be held with representatives of Northern Ireland political parties; and if he will discuss with them the conduct of Northern Ireland parliamentary business and the prospects for administrative devolution.

Mr. Tom King

I hope that talks can be held with the constitutional political parties about the future of government of Northen Ireland. I am ready to discuss any proposals which the parties may wish to put forward in that context. Exploratory discussions have begun between unionist leaders and senior officials of my Department.
