§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the pay scale for (a) clerical support staff and (b) locally engaged staff employed at British posts in (i) India, (ii) Pakistan, (iii) Bangladesh, (iv) Ghana and (v) Nigeria.
§ Mr. EggarThe pay scales are as follows:
(a) United Kingdom-based clerical support staff (Diplomatic Service grade 10) are on the same basic salary scale worldwide:
Minimum £7,542—Maximum £8,712 per annum. As for all United Kingdom-based staff, these pay scales are supplemented by foreign allowances which differ from post to post.
(b) Locally-engaged staff pay scales are:
