HC Deb 15 July 1987 vol 119 c534W
Mr. Alan W. Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if estimates are available of the amount of dioxin in parts per million formed during the high-temperature incineration of polychlorinated biphenyls.

Mr. Moynihan

Trials have demonstrated that the amount of dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans emitted as a result of high temperature incineration of PCBs by continuous liquid feed is constistently less than one part in 101 2 (that is one in a million million) in stack gases.
