§ Mr. ParkinsonA provision designed to pave the way for privatisation of the electricity supply industry is being included in a public utilities Bill. This provision will clarify the powers of the industry to ensure that it has adequate statutory backing to prepare for privatisation. Our main legislation on electricity privatisation will follow later.
