§ Mr. Wallerasked the Secretary of State for Transport what information is available to him about highway authorities which have made local traffic orders requiring commercial vehicles to meet noise requirements other than those prescribed in the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyI know of no such local traffic orders. The London night time and weekend lorry ban mentions efforts to reduce noise emissions as one of the factors which may be taken into account in issuing exemption permits.
