§ Mr. Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will describe the circumstances under which the Ministry of Defence raised objections to the establishment of licensed premises at the Coach house, Giffen, by Dairy; and to what purpose.
§ Mr. FreemanThe Ministry of Defence invoked its statutory right and objected to the conversion of stables into a public house at the Coach house, Giffen by Dalry. The development lay within the safeguarded zone surrounding the royal naval armament depot, Beith and my Ministry was not prepared to accept an increase in the number of persons potentially at risk, in the albeit unlikely event of an accidental explosion at the depot.
