HL Deb 13 July 1987 vol 488 c920WA
Baroness Masham of Ilton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will recommend that people employed by private security firms should receive a minimum standard of basic training, including self-defence.

The Earl of Caithness

Both the British Security Industry Association and the International Professional Security Association already include within their codes of practice and conduct for members a requirement that they should provide training of such duration and scope as is compatible with the efficient discharge of the tasks involved and the safety of their employees.
