Mr. Alan W. Williamsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has about which countries other than the United Kingdom are carrying out research into the disposal of intermediate level nuclear waste under the sea bed using coastal sites.
§ Mr. MoynihanI have information about the disposal facility under the Baltic at Forsmark in Sweden and about preliminary studies for a similar facility in Finland. I understand that France and Japan are also considering disposal under the sea bed near the coast.
