§ Mr. Matthew Taylorasked Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his proposals for legislation to prevent the construction of buildings susceptible to the build-up of radon gas.
§ Mr. MoynihanThe building regulations already provide sufficient powers to regulate the construction of new buildings. The regulations are supported by approved documents which give guidance on how to comply with 161W regulations. The Department is working on guidance to be included in the approved documents on measures which may need to be taken in areas where radon is a problem.
