§ Mrs. RumboldInformation on authorities' charging practices is not collected by central Government. The local authority associations have said that the majority of authorities at present make some charge for day and residential school trips. Charges are also made, less commonly, for a range of other items. My right hon. Friend intends to consult on proposals to clarify the law so that authorities know which items they can and cannot choose to charge for.
