HL Deb 07 July 1987 vol 488 cc664-5WA
Lord Boyd-Carpenter

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have given further consideration to the question of the grant of parole to prisoners sentenced to terms of imprisonment of between 6 and 18 months.

The Minister of State, Home Office (The Earl of Caithness)

A number of improvements have recently been made in the operation of the parole scheme as it affects shorter sentenced prisoners. We intend to institute a thorough review of the workings of the whole parole system.
