§ Mr. StanleySince the introduction of rubber baton rounds in 1970, and plastic baton rounds in 1973, 15 people have died as a result of their use by the security forces in Northern Ireland. From 17 March 1981, when records were first collated, to 31 May 1987, the latest date for which figures are available, 383 people are recorded as having been injured by them.
