§ Mr. ButcherThe implications of the proposed acquisition of Thorn EMI Ferguson by Thomson Grand Public will depend upon future decisions by Thomson on how it will run the business. Although Ferguson is the single largest manufacturer in the United Kingdom, there are nine other major companies established in television manufacture here, several of which are expanding their production. Plans by at least two additional companies to enter production are also well advanced.
