§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Energy, pursuant to the replies to the hon. Member for Great Grimsby (Mr. Mitchell) of 2 May 1986, Official Report, columns 502–503, and to the hon. Member for Stockton, North (Mr. Cook) of 12 January, Official Report, column 505, if he will now make it his policy to inform the Governments of Italy and Japan that despite there being no contractual agreement at present it is intended that all of the low-level radioactive waste arising (a) from imported spent Magnox fuel from the Italian Latina reactor and the Japanese Tokai Mura reactor and (b) indirectly from contaminated material arising from the reprocessing of this spent Magnox fuel at Sellafield, will be returned in full to the respective countries for disposal.
