§ Mr. Ian StewartThe increase in retail prices for the 12 months ending December 1986 was 3.7 per cent., an increase of 0.3 per cent. over November. The outlook for inflation to the fourth quarter of 1987 was described in the autumn statement forecast, which showed retail price inflation rising somewhat in the middle of 1987 before resuming a downward path.
