§ Mr. John Fraserasked the Attorney-General if he will make a statement describing the present arrangements for ex gratia payments by the courts to litigants who have suffered loss by maladministration within the court system.
The Attorney-GeneralThe Lord Chancellor is prepared to consider claims for compensation where loss is sustained through any negligence of court officials in matters for which he is responsible.
The courts as such do not make such payments.
