§ Mr. Archie HamiltonAs shown in table 2.5 of the statement on the Defence Estimates 1986, the cost of the strategic nuclear force is estimated to be £658 million for the current financial year. Broadly speaking, therefore, the balance of the defence budget is available for conventional forces.
