§ Mr. WaldegraveThe Department is contributing to a study with MAFF and the Nature Conservancy Council into the effects of nitrogen on species diversity and agriculture on the Somerset levels. Other monitoring work is also available to the Department such as the survey of fertiliser practice carried out annually by the Agricultural Development and Advisory Service, Rothamstead research station and the Fertiliser Manufacturers Association.
