§ Mr. Ridley[pursuant to his reply, 23 January 1987]The Department of the Environment (central) has no staff employed dealing with public libraries. The staff employed on heritage arts is two. On historic buildings, including the Royal palaces open to the public, the staff employed (not including staff employed by the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England) is 261½.
