Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list all surplus National Health Service property sold since 1979 in excess of £50,000, the price obtained and the date of sale.

It is taken from returns sent to the Department by regional health authorities at the end of each financial year and does not include transactions of under 1 acre. All proceeds from disposals are retained by health authorities and used for reinvestment in the service.
