asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if the direct British contribution has yet been paid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency; what information he has on the payment of contributions by Arab states; and if he will make a statement.

The 1986 contribution of £5 million has been paid. A further £5 million has been pledged for 1987 and will be paid during the course of the year.

Member to annex I of the addendum to the report of the Commissioner General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency of October 1986, UN Official Record No. A/41/13/AddI, copies of which have been deposited in the Library of the House.
