These include the introduction of a £1,200 bursary scheme for trainee teachers, development funding for training courses designed to tap new sources of recruitment, and substantial funding in support of in-service training. A new unit to publicise career opportunities in teaching will be operational shortly. We are working with the education service and with industry on further possible initiatives.
