§ 66. Mr. Marlowasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on his proposals to give greater powers to head teachers and boards of governors.
§ Mr. DunnThe Government firmly believe that more effective education can be secured by putting more power and responsibilities in the hands of individual schools. This is being achieved under the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 which substantially increases the role of governing bodies and head teachers.
