§ Mr. DunnIn January 1986, 3 per cent. of pupils in maintained secondary schools (excluding middle deemed secondary) in England were attending grammar schools. Grammar school leavers in the academic year 1984–85 held 14.8 per cent. of the A-level passes at grades A–C obtained by leavers from all maintained schools.
