§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThe regional distribution of Ministry of Defence expenditure on research and development is not separately identified. For estimates of the percentages of total procurement expenditure spent in various regions, I refer the hon. Member to an answer given on 18 December last to my hon. Friend the Member for Leeds, North-West (Dr. Hampson) at columns 689–90. These estimates refer to direct payments to main contractors and do not take account of payments made to sub-contractors.
