asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what are the operational costs of keeping grain stored in intervention in Humberside per year; and what is the market value of the grain stored;

(2) what are the operational costs of keeping butter stored in intervention in Norfolk per year; and what is the market value of the butter stored;

(3) what are the operational costs of keeping butter stored in intervention in Lincolnshire per year; and what is the market value of the butter stored;

(4) what are the operational costs of keeping butter stored in intervention in north Yorkshire per year; and what is the market value of the butter stored;

(5) what are the operational costs of keeping butter stored in intervention in Humberside per year; and what is the market value of the butter stored;

(6) what are the operational costs of keeping grain stored in intervention in Norfolk per year; and what is the market value of the grain stored;

(7) what are the operational costs of keeping grain stored in intervention in Lincolnshire per year; and what is the market value of the grain stored;

Storage costs are not recorded separately for different areas. The average annual costs of storage and handling are about £12.50/tonne for cereals and £81.50/tonne for butter. The current average market prices are £110 per tonne for feedwheat and barley and £1,835 per tonne for butter.
