§ Mr. Loydenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in view of the economic circumstances of many of the defendants, he will consider making an order directing that the extradition proceedings in connection with the Heysel stadium disaster be heard before a stipendiary magistrate sitting in Liverpool.
§ Mr. MellorThe Extradition Acts 1870 and 1895 provide that extradition proceedings must be held before the Bow street magistrate except where it would be dangerous to the life of the accused or prejudicial to his health to move him to Bow street. We are, however, considering the suggestion made by the hon. Member, and will write to him.
