§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe Department's engineers are closely involved with the construction and maintenance of motorways and trunk roads and monitor the performance of in-service roads. When a problem with a material is encountered on any site, the performance of that material on other sites is investigated and corrective action taken if required; consideration is also given to the need to revise any standards or specifications.
