§ Mr. David MitchellBritish Transport police officers have not been engaged in checking tickets. The checks referred to have been undertaken by travelling ticket inspectors employed by London Underground Limited during operations to clamp down on fare evasion on this part of the Victoria line. Police have been present in order to reduce the risk of assault on staff carrying out these ticket checks.
