§ Mr. TrippierThere is no intention to publish the names and addresses of companies where major accidents, as defined by regulation 2(1) of the CIMAH regulations, have occurred.
§ Mr. Hoyleasked the Secretary of State for Employment when the information about major accidents sent by the Health and Safety Executive to the European Commission, as required by regulation 5 of the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1984, will be published.
§ Mr. TrippierThere is no intention to publish information about major accidents sent by the Health and Safety Executive to the European Commission under regulation 5 of the CIMAH regulations.
The European Commission will set up a register containing certain details of all major accidents notified to it by the member states, including the United Kingdom. The information in this register will be made available to the competent authorities in each member state so that they may benefit from the exchange of information and take account of any lessons to be learnt.
