§ Mr. Warrenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the reasons for the delay in the opening of Camber castle at Rye to the public; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WaldegraveCamber castle is one of the many ancient monuments which are now managed on my right hon. Friend's behalf by the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission. I understand that it has been undergoing repairs. It is for the commission to decide how much of the castle can be opened to the public and how soon. My hon. Friend may therefore wish to take this up with the chairman, Lord Montagu of Beaulieu.
